We are looking for a motivated and dependable Production Operative / Machine Operative to join our specialist electrical and mechanical process plant on a full‑time basis. This is a hands‑on, practical role ideal for someone who enjoys structured processes, working to targets, and being part of a supportive team.
This position offers long‑term security, career development, and an excellent pathway to increased earnings following successful training and probation. Due to the intricate nature of the work, we would favour those with experience as a Quality Technician, Machinist or Process Operative, with some prior experience conducting first on / last off checks, and/or interpretation of basic technical drawings.
Shift Patterns
- Rotating Shifts (34 hours per week)
- Monday - Thursday: 06:00-13:30 / 13:30-21:00
- Friday: 06:00-12:30 / 12:30-19:00
- Additionally, sourcing for 5 night shift operators.
- Hours for these are as follows:
- Monday - Thursday: (Apply online only) / (Apply online only) (on selected nights)
- OR Friday to Sunday: (Apply online only)
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out routine production tasks and following established procedures
- Preparing and setting equipment in line with company requirements
- Monitoring each stage of the production process and maintaining consistent output quality
- Using hand tools to inspect and quality‑check your own work
- Accurately completing documentation and adhering to SOPs
- Supporting basic machine upkeep and safe handling of raw metallic materials
- Maintaining focus in a fast‑paced environment and contributing to smooth workflow
Person Profile
- Has strong attention to detail and good communication skills
- Is reliable, proactive, and eager to learn
- Can follow written and verbal instructions confidently
- Is comfortable working to targets and contributing to team success
- Ideally has 6‑12+ months of Production Line Operative experience
- Can work rotating shifts and remain flexible as the business grows
Hours & Pay
- Hours: Rotating shifts (as stated above)
- Starting Rate: £12.84 per hour
- Pay Increase: Upon successful completion of probation
- Earning Potential: £15+ per hour once fully trained
