Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00am β 5:00pm, every other Saturday 08:00 β 12:00 noon
The successful candidate will ensure the smooth operation of the yard, maintain health and safety standards, and assist both colleagues and customers with stock management and deliveries. Full training will be provided for machinery and products.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a tidy and safe yard in line with health and safety requirements
- Load and unload vehicles, including company vehicles and deliveries
- Move stock within the yard using machinery (training provided)
- Ensure all yard areas are fully stocked, and deliveries are correctly picked
- Assist customers with orders and enquiries
- Report any issues to the Yard Manager, including stock, vehicle, or health and safety concerns
- Check that vehicles are safe to operate and free from defects
- Maintain personal presentation and wear all required PPE during working hours
- Undertake product training as required
- Full UK driving licence
- Forklift licence - Counterbalance (desirable)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Knowledge of building merchant products/industry is desirable
- Reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to tasks
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
