Functional Skills Tutor – Lyneham, Wiltshire Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays Contract: Fixed Term – 12 months About the Role We are supporting a leading organisation delivering training programmes across Salisbury and Wiltshire, focused on supporting UK defence infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Functional Skills Tutor to teach, coach, assess, and support learners, helping them achieve their qualifications and reach their full potential. You will deliver face-to-face English and Maths to apprentices, with cohort sizes of up to 16 learners. The role also involves acting as an Apprenticeship Support Coach, providing additional guidance to ensure learners remain on track and succeed. Key Responsibilities Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths, adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners Support and motivate learners, including those with SPLDs or neurodiverse requirements Plan and prepare lessons, assessments, and learning resources Conduct invigilation and assessments in line with ESFA, Ofsted, and awarding organisation standards Track and report learner progress accurately Build strong working relationships across delivery, quality, and compliance teams Maintain CPD and contribute ideas to enhance teaching and learning Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, and organisational policiesQualifications & Experience Required Essential: Certificate in Education & Training (or equivalent) Functional Skills English and Maths Level 2 or GCSEs (Grade 4–9 / C or above) Proven experience delivering Functional Skills Experience with apprenticeship programmes or within the defence sectorPlease note: This role is subject to Security Clearance.
