An experienced and commercially driven Project Sales Manager is required to join a growing sales team. The role focuses on identifying and developing upgrade and refurbishment opportunities within an existing customer base. You will survey client sites, assess compliance and upgrade requirements, produce technically compliant design and quotation proposals, and manage projects from initial sale through to completion. This role suits someone with strong fire alarm system knowledge, a good understanding of British Standards (particularly BS 5839), and a proven ability to manage projects while achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed site surveys to assess existing fire systems and identify upgrade or compliance opportunities.
- Prepare and present compliant designs, quotations, and sales proposals in line with BS 5839 and relevant legislation.
- Work closely with sales and project delivery teams to ensure technically accurate and commercially viable proposals.
- Manage projects from order through to completion, ensuring compliance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and convert upgrade opportunities from existing service and maintenance contracts.
- Maintain accurate records of site visits, quotations, and sales activity within the CRM system.
- Achieve or exceed monthly KPIs, including sales revenue targets (monthly and quarterly), number of quotations issued, and customer and site visit activity.
- Build strong relationships with customers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Stay informed on changes to fire safety legislation, standards, and emerging technologies.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in fire systems sales, project management, or design engineering.
- Strong technical understanding of fire detection and alarm systems, ideally within an upgrade or refurbishment environment.
- Working knowledge of BS 5839, BS 5266, and relevant fire safety legislation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working in a target-driven environment.
- Full UK driving licence (car allowance provided).
