The Role
- Set and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components
- Interpret and optimise CNC programs, tooling setups, and offsets to ensure consistent quality output
- Take ownership of machine setup, datum setting, and process control
- Maintain tight tolerances using a range of inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, CMM, shadow graphs)
- Work collaboratively to maximise machine utilisation and throughput on a structured production plan
- Support Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) to ensure reliability and uptime
- Deliver against production targets without compromising quality standards
About You
Essential:
- Proven experience setting and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines (3–5 axis)
- Background in aerospace, precision engineering, or high-spec manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of CNC programming logic, offsets, tooling, and setup parameters
- Ability to confidently use inspection and measurement equipment
- Track record of working to tight tolerances and production deadlines
Desirable:
- Apprentice trained or equivalent hands-on engineering background
- Experience with CAD/CAM systems or program editing
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or TPM principles
