The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in managing the firm's finance operations and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Initially, the role will focus on Principal Finance functions, including CASS and Client Money oversight, company accounting and reporting, and trade and distribution settlement. The successful candidate will build strong, positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the regulator, and will support and help implement strategic plans that align with the firm's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of Principal Finance functions, including:
- CASS and Client Money oversight
- Company accounting and statutory reporting
- Trade and distribution settlement
- Integrity of financial reporting, capital and liquidity monitoring
Medium-Term Responsibilities
- Overseeing fund financial reporting and NAV calculation processes
- Managing and maintaining relationships with third-party service providers
Qualifications and Skills
- Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Minimum of five years' experience in a senior finance role with responsibility for financial reporting within a regulated firm
- Experience operating within SM&CR environments, including supporting SMFs, evidencing reasonable steps, and managing annual fitness and propriety cycles
- Strong understanding of CASS, FCA regulations, and fund accounting
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and financial systems
- Ability to work autonomously while also leading, developing, and motivating a team
