The Opportunity
This is a hands-on, design-led Senior Engineer role with project leadership and client exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and review civil and structural design in accordance with Eurocodes and relevant UK standards
- Lead projects across rail infrastructure including stations, platforms, bridges, drainage and associated civils works
- Work across the full project lifecycle (GRIP stages / equivalent)
- Interface with multidisciplinary teams and attend key technical meetings (IDC/IDR)
- Produce high-quality technical reports, calculations and specifications
- Manage project programmes, budgets and commercial performance
- Mentor and support junior engineers
- Support assurance processes including CRE / CEM responsibilities (where applicable)
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and health & safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in civil/structural design within a consultancy environment
- Strong background in rail or infrastructure projects (highways also considered)
- Experience delivering design from first principles
- Working knowledge of Eurocodes, DMRB and/or Network Rail standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (BIM experience desirable)
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects
- Degree qualified (BEng/BSc/HNC/HND) with progression toward or achievement of MICE/MIStructE
