Job Description:

Local Authority Building Control Area Team Leader, Merseyside

Pay rate: £60 – 90 per hour

Contract role, Local Government Planning

Pertemps are recruiting for an Area Team Leader to join a Local Authority Building Control team as soon as possible. This is a temporary position on an ongoing basis, and you will need to have experience in a similar role.

The role:

  • To assist the Head of Building Control in the following:
  • To effectively lead a team of Building Control Officers/Plan Examiners in delivering Building Regulation compliance on submitted applications.
  • Provide support to the Building Safety Regulator in discharging their duties.
  • Development and implementation of the Council’s policies relating to service delivery.
  • Ensuring that an efficient and effective service delivery is maintained.
  • Delivery of a sensitive and responsive services to all client groups within the city.
  • Enforcement of the Building Act and Building Regulations.

Experience required:

  • Full professional qualification (e.g., RICS / CABE / CIOB / MIFE).
  • LABC/CIOB Level 6 in Building Control or demonstrable auditable experience in the industry.
  • Demonstrated competency to Specialist Level including 3H as per Building Safety Regulator requirements.
  • Experience managing Building Control services in a local authority.
  • Extensive knowledge of Building Regulations, enforcement, and complex schemes.
  • Experience in preparing performance monitoring reports and managing QA systems.
