Pertemps are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join Islington Council’s Adult Social Care Service. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled OT with leadership experience to make a real difference, supporting both staff and residents across a range of teams, including Hospital Discharge, Community OT, Front Door, and Reablement Services.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and specialist advice within the Occupational Therapy service.
- Supervise and support a team of Occupational Therapists.
- Screen, prioritise, and allocate referrals across the service.
- Manage a small caseload of complex cases, demonstrating best practice.
- Authorise equipment and adaptations to support residents.
- Contribute to audits, service development, and implementation of changes.
- Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities under the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and related legislation.
- Promote strengths-based, person-centred practice, enabling independence and community connections.
Requirements:
- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
- Proven experience at a Senior/Lead OT level within Social Care.
- Excellent understanding of the Care Act, MCA, and relevant policy.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and communication skills.
