Pertemps Social Care are supporting a local authorty in the Northamptonshire area. The role will be driving high impact SEND services with heart and passion. You will lead and manage the delivery of high-quality SEND services, ensuring statutory compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
About the SEND Manager Role:
You will oversee the EHCP process and coordinate the backlog of cases, manage and coordinate Educational Psychologist input and drive improvements in outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
SEND Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end EHCP process, ensuring timeliness and quality
- Lead a team of EHCP Coordinators, Educational Psychologists
- Monitor caseloads and ensure statutory deadlines are met
- Work closely with schools, families, and multi-agency partners to support inclusive practice
- Oversee quality assurance of EHCPs and psychological advice
- Contribute to strategic planning and service development
- Provide expert advice to senior leaders and elected members on SEND matters
Qualifications
- Proven experience in SEND leadership within a local authority or education setting
- In-depth knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice
- Strong understanding of EHCP processes and multi-agency working
- Experience managing teams and driving service improvement
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Relevant qualification in education, social care, or SEND (Level 5 or above preferred)
