About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our clients service team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive repair and maintenance services to mechanical and retail equipment across the UK. You’ll be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, assembly work, inspections, and repairs—ensuring high-quality service in line with company standards and customer agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive repair and maintenance services to mechanical/retail equipment, including fitting, stripping, welding, and general maintenance.
Support the Service Office and Area Supervisor/Line Manager by completing assigned tasks efficiently and on time.
Perform assembly work on a variety of products and conduct preventative inspections and testing on electro-mechanical equipment.
Be willing to travel across the UK, with occasional overnight stays (accommodation and meals provided).
Adhere to service level agreements, ensuring work is completed to company and customer standards.
Complete all required documentation, including job reports, timesheets, and service records, accurately and promptly.
Monitor customer service standards, escalating issues where necessary.
Use the Company’s Service Management system for daily records, vehicle checks, and parts tracking.
Take responsibility for health & safety, following all safe working procedures and company policies.
Maintain company vehicles and equipment in line with policy.
Attend training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.
Requirements
Must be based in Glasgow, Dundee, Edinburgh, or Livingston.
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills, with relevant qualifications.
Previous experience with hydraulic systems.
Previous experience working on balers is essential.
Must comply with Wanzl’s Facial Hair Policy: employees must be clean shaven to wear Respiratory Protective Equipment (exceptions made for religious or medical reasons, with alternative RPE provided).
