Pertemps are delighted to be working with our public sector client to recruit a Media and Social Media Officer on a temporary ongoing basis.
Location: Central Edinburgh
Hours: Monday to Friday - 36 hours per week
Pay Rate: £20.83 per hour
Duration of Assignment: Temporary Ongoing
Start Date: Immediate
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping how Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (EHSCP) communicates with the public, media and stakeholders. Working across EHSCP and wider public sector communications service, you’ll deliver engaging media and digital content, manage media relations and support high-profile communications activity that protects and enhances organisational reputation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop engaging news stories and content for press, digital and social media
- Deliver media and social media plans to a high standard and within deadlines
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media contacts
- Create high-quality content including press releases, briefings, social posts, video and visuals
- Support reputation management and contribute to issues and crisis communications
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners across health, social care and communications
- Monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve reach and impact
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Experience in media relations and digital or social media communications
- Strong writing skills with the ability to tailor content for different audiences
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Good understanding of the media landscape and modern communications tools
- Excellent communication skills, sound judgement and political awareness
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team
Desirable:
- Experience working with partners, stakeholders or communities
- Background in public sector, health or social care communications
