Janitorial / Facilities Assistant
Location: Dumfries (DG1 4FD)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Temporary – 3 weeks initially (may be extended due to long-term sickness)
Start: Immediate start subject to PVG clearance
This is a short-term opportunity with potential for extension depending on operational needs.
Working hours
- Monday & Wednesday: 11:00am - 6:30pm
- Tuesday & Thursday: 2:00pm - 9:30pm
- Friday: 10:00am - 5:30pm
- Occasional weekend work required
Key duties
- General janitorial duties, cleaning, and basic building maintenance
- Locking up the building and setting security alarms in the evening
- Monitoring and responding appropriately to fire and security alarms
- Ensuring the building remains safe, clean, and well maintained
Requirements
- PVG check required
- Ability to understand and follow fire and security procedures
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
- First Aid qualification desirable
- Any additional skills such as PAT testing would be an advantage
