The company is an established and leading manufacturer of products and systems to various industries such as defence, rail, automotive and marine. They are seeking to recruit a Service and Warranty Manager for their operations in Redditch.
Salary - circa Β£40,000 but potentially slightly higher for the right candidate. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 1.30pm. Benefits include private medical insurance, employee discounts, staff social events, and free parking.
The main responsibility of the role is to oversee all aspects of service operations and warranty management. This includes leading technical support efforts, managing product returns and repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and effective resolution of issues. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, operational leadership, and customer service.
Responsibilities and duties are as follows:
- Lead the service and warranty team to ensure efficient handling of returned products and warranty claims.
- Oversee the mechanical and electrical repair of returned products and assemblies.
- Refurbish and fault diagnose products.
- Manage booking and tracking of products using SAP and RMA process.
- Liaise with quality and engineering teams to investigate recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities and warranty claims.
- Provide technical support to customers via email, phone, and on-site visits.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and liaise with procurement for replenishment.
- Develop and maintain warranty policies and procedures.
- Preparation of reports and analysis on trends and warranty performance.
Experience and qualifications for the role are as follows:
- Strong experience in a technical service or warranty management position, preferably within manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Previous experience of communication both face to face and on telephone, email, etc.
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and organisational skills.
- Able to work under pressure and possess excellent communication skills.
The company is based in Redditch, which is commutable from Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Alcester, Solihull, Worcester, Droitwich, Dudley, Stratford upon Avon, and Evesham.
