The company is a leading and established manufacturer of plastic parts and components supplied to various industries such as automotive, aerospace, construction. Pertemps are recruiting on their behalf for a Project/Process Engineer for their operations in the Droitwich area. Salary – £35,000 to £40,000 per annum The role is a Day shift from Monday to Friday. The project engineer role is responsible for managing the NPI lifecycle from initial design to the approval from the customer. The role will require manufacturing process to be of an efficient manner and ensure a high quality end product. The role will require to liaise closely with the tooling department, clients and internal teams. Responsibilities and duties are as follows; Analyse Engineering and CAD drawings data to ensure manufacturing process is correct and efficient and accurate tool design. Ensure tooling orders are compliant with project requirements Approval of tool designs, ensuring alignment with product specification and cost effective. Manage toolmakers to ensure adherence to quality and timeline expectations through the entire process. Resolve any manufacturing issues with tooling team and suppliers. Refine and amend any manufacturing process to optimise quality, cost and efficiency. Plan and oversee tooling trials. Prepare detailed documentation including work instruction, set up sheets and operating procedure. Conduct and present dimensional reporting to customers, addressing any technical enquiries or concerns. Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, troubleshoot any process related issues. Assist in resolving production inefficiencies and defects to maintain product quality. Experience and qualifications for the role are as follows; Previous experience within a plastics thermoforming environment manufacturer within a process/project capacity. Proven experience in tooling, process development and project engineering within the plastics manufacturing industry. Knowledge of Solidworks software and able to interpret engineering drawings. Experience of managing tooling teams. Strong time management and organisational skills. A qualification such as a degree or HND/HNC in an engineering field would be advantageous but not essential. Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools for dimensional analysis and process validation. Ability to build professional relationships at all levels both inside the business and with suppliers/customers.
