Worcestershire-based with extensive international travel. £35,000‑£50,000 depending on your skills and experience. Our client is seeking a motivated and commercially driven Technical Sales Manager to support the continued growth of our global business. This is a key role responsible for developing new opportunities, strengthening existing customer relationships, and re‑engaging lapsed accounts across international markets. You will act as a professional ambassador for our client delivering excellent customer service, accurate quotations, and technically informed solutions in a highly competitive industry. While experience in the metals industry and/or presswork is highly desirable, it is not essential – full support and training will be provided. This role offers long‑term progression, with the opportunity to integrate into the management structure and contribute to the strategic direction of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Sales
- Identify and develop new business opportunities globally
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers
- Re‑engage lapsed accounts to strengthen the customer base
- Attend international exhibitions (typically up to five per year)
- Prepare accurate estimates, quotations, and proposals
- Negotiate pricing, delivery, and quality within agreed parameters
- Participate in monthly sales meetings and present detailed activity reports
- Produce short visit reports following client meetings
- Monitor market trends and contribute to sales forecasting
- Support technical and sales colleagues in meeting customer requirements
- Work collaboratively across the sales team
- Introduce and manage new projects on a case‑by‑case basis
- Proactively drive business profitability
- Contribute to long‑term growth and strategic planning
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a technical B2B sales
- Engineering, metallurgy, or a related technical qualification preferred
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
- Commercially aware with a focus on profitability
- Willing and able to travel internationally on a regular basis
- Flexible approach to working hours due to global travel requirements
- International driving capability preferred
