A highly respected insurance broker is seeking an experienced Automotive Insurance Broking Specialist to lead their Motor Trade Insurance strategy and contribute to the broking of both new and renewal business. The Role

  • Collaborate closely with the Broking Manager and Account Executive Team to achieve both team-wide and individual new business and renewal targets, contributing to the overall P&L and financial strategy.
  • Serve as a senior referral and escalation point for less experienced members of the Automotive Team, offering guidance and expertise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key insurer markets and underwriters.
  • Continuously review and enhance the Automotive product range, ensuring it remains competitive and best-in-class within the market.
  • Deliver outstanding service levels to both customers and internal colleagues.
  • Provide detailed monthly reporting and analysis to spot trends and identify potential opportunities or risks.
  • Recommend and implement strategic initiatives based on data analysis to optimise trading volumes and underwriting outcomes.
  • Manage an existing portfolio of clients, ensuring retention targets are achieved by fully understanding evolving customer and market needs.

Success in the Role Will Be Evidenced By

  • Supporting the delivery of the client's strategic and financial plans within the Automotive segment.
  • Contributing to the team's renewal retention targets.
  • Maintaining a profitable and sustainable book of business through prudent risk selection and underwriting practices.
  • Meeting set KPIs, targets, and objectives.
  • Completing all mandatory training and CPD requirements.
  • Positive feedback from customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating the company's values and behaviours in all professional activities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Acting with integrity, diligence, and professionalism in all dealings.
  • Ensuring full compliance with FCA, PRA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Keeping customer interests at the heart of decision-making, promoting fair treatment and good outcomes.
  • Managing operational risks effectively and ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
  • Representing the business positively at all times.

Candidate Profile

Experience: Minimum 3 years of commercial insurance experience within a broking and sales environment. Experience using broking systems such as Acturis.

Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Automotive sector and the insurance risks specific to this market. Awareness of key competitors and their market offerings. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications: Minimum Cert CII (or willingness to work towards this qualification).

Other Requirements: Flexibility to travel for client meetings when required.
