Educational Psychologist Main Purpose of the Role
To deliver an effective educational psychology service to schools, families, and the local authority by:

  • Providing psychological advice for statutory assessments under the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Supporting children and young people with special educational needs, emotional or behavioural difficulties, and developmental disorders.
  • Promoting inclusive education and well-being through evidence-based interventions.

Educational Psychologist Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and consultations for children and young people.
  • Provide psychological advice for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service databases

Educational Psychologist Qualifications & Skills

  • HCPC registration as an Educational Psychologist.
  • Completion of a BPS-accredited Doctorate in Educational Psychology.
  • Strong consultation, assessment, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across education, health, and social care sectors.
  • Commitment to equal opportunities and inclusive practice.
