Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of their client for a proactive Supply Chain / Procurement Coordinator. You will play a key role in keeping projects running smoothly, making sure materials, suppliers, and schedules are all aligned.

What you’ll do:

  • Procurement & Materials Management
    • Source timber, engineered wood, panel products, fixings, membranes, cranes, and haulage.
    • Ensure materials are delivered to site or manufacturing facilities on time.
    • Raise and manage purchase orders, update schedules, and track deliveries.
    • Monitor weather impacts on operations.
  • Supplier Management
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers.
    • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and agreements.
    • Monitor performance and address quality, delivery or service issues.
  • Cost Control
    • Manage material costs in line with budgets.
    • Identify opportunities for savings, bulk purchasing and alternative sourcing.
    • Track price changes and report findings.
  • Project Coordination
    • Liaise with design, estimating, production and site teams to ensure purchasing supports project schedules.
    • Resolve supply chain challenges promptly.
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Ensure materials meet industry standards, building regulations and company requirements.
    • Maintain timber certifications and manage non-conforming materials.
  • Stock & Inventory Management
    • Monitor core materials and plan project-specific requirements.
    • Minimise waste and optimise stock levels on-site and off-site.
  • Administration & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records and support audits.
    • Report on supplier performance, cost savings, price changes and material allocation.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain coordination.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
  • Construction, timber frame, manufacturing or related industry experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of timber and construction materials.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft programs.
  • Commercial awareness.
