Due to continued success and ambitious expansion plans, we are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join the Head Office team based in Plymouth.
About the Role: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to further their career within a dynamic and fast-paced finance department. Initially centred on Purchase Ledger, the role will quickly evolve to support a range of finance projects and contribute across various teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high volumes of purchase ledger invoices and credit notes accurately
- Match invoices to purchase orders and goods received in a timely manner
- Support creditor reconciliations and liaise with suppliers to resolve queries
- Maintain precise financial records through efficient data capture and processing
- Assist with month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
- Contribute to cash and cost control (CC) procedures
- Analyse actual figures against budgets during month-end reporting
- Participate in cross-departmental finance project work
- Provide ad hoc support to other finance functions as needed
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in a similar finance or accounts role, particularly with Purchase Ledger
- Ability to adapt to various transactional tasks in a fast-moving finance environment
- Good understanding of accounting concepts such as accruals and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Proficient in MS Excel and familiar with finance systems
- Organised with effective communication skills
- Team player with a proactive and flexible approach
- Ideally AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT
