Location: Plymouth

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (42.5 hrs/week)

Salary: £13.50 – £18.00 per hour DOE (£29,800 – £39,800 basic / £35k – £47k OTE with regular overtime)

Contract: Fulltime, Permanent

The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Service Engineer to carry out maintenance and repair work on a range of plant and equipment. This hands-on role requires strong technical ability, good attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all servicing, repairs and associated documentation are completed accurately and efficiently, while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation across workshops and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service to both external and internal clients.
  • Maintain and repair plant and equipment in line with company procedures and instructions.
  • Keep workshop areas and vehicles tidy, safe, and well-organised.
  • Accurately complete job sheets and associated paperwork.
  • Return unused parts to stores and use stock efficiently.
  • Assist with site organisation, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Support collections and deliveries as required.
  • Adhere to all company quality, personnel, and health & safety procedures.

Additional Information

Overtime is regularly available and paid at time and a half, with double time on Sundays (rare). Opportunities for ongoing training and skill development may be available.
