About the Role

As a Teaching Support Apprenticeship Trainer/Assessor, you will mentor and support apprentices on the Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant, and Level 5 School Leader Apprenticeship with NPQSL programmes. You’ll play a pivotal role in planning training, conducting assessments, and providing tailored guidance to ensure apprentices achieve their qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial skills reviews to identify individual learning needs and develop bespoke training plans.
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality training sessions, both in person and online, covering Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours aligned with apprenticeship standards.
  • Provide tutorial support on safeguarding, British Values, Prevent, and other critical topics.
  • Assess learners’ work-based performance, offering constructive feedback to aid progression.
  • Support apprentices in functional skills development (Maths and English), working with specialists as required.
  • Monitor progress, ensuring timely completion of portfolios and preparation for End-Point Assessments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports to track learner progress and compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with employers, acting as a key point of contact to support workplace learning and development.
  • Identify and provide additional learning support (ALS) needs, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Participate in CPD and standardisation meetings to maintain up-to-date knowledge of apprenticeship standards and best practices.
  • Promote mental health awareness, online safety, and career guidance as part of the learner journey.

About You

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (ideally at Level 5 or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience as a Teacher and/or Education Manager.
  • Level 2 qualifications in Numeracy and Literacy.
  • Strong knowledge of apprenticeship programmes and the ability to support diverse learners.
  • Experience collaborating with employers to enhance apprenticeship delivery.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and ePortfolios.
  • A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle, with a willingness to travel.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Assessor, teaching, or IQA qualifications.
