A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a Skilled Machinist / Precision Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served machinist to work in a hands-on role within a precision manufacturing environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for machining precision components, working to engineering drawings, and ensuring the efficient operation of a busy machine shop. This role primarily involves working with manual machines, with training available for CNC operations if required.
Key Responsibilities
- Machining Operations – Set up and operate manual lathes, knee mills, and drills to produce high-precision components.
- Engineering Drawings – Read and interpret technical drawings to meet exact specifications.
- Tooling & Finishing – Use interchangeable inserts and grinding tools to achieve required finishes and tolerances.
- Bench Fitting & Assembly – Experience in bearing renewal and assembly work is an advantage but not essential.
- Low Volume Precision Work – Exposure to mould work and rubber machining is beneficial; training can be provided.
- CNC Experience – Not required but advantageous, with training available for the right candidate.
