This is a senior, hands-on role with real influence over service delivery, commercial performance, and team development.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of operational performance across geographically dispersed teams, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably, while continuously improving customer satisfaction and service capability.
As Service Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading day-to-day service operations across Scotland, the Midlands, the North East of England, and wider regions
- Planning and scheduling engineering resources to maximise utilisation and minimise downtime
- Managing service costs, margins, and job profitability

- Driving continuous improvement across systems, processes, and performance metrics
This role combines operational leadership, commercial control, and people management in a fast-paced technical environment.
Proven experience in service management within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical services environment is essential. Strong multi-region workforce planning and scheduling capability, including managing travel, job complexity, and skill requirements is required. You should have commercial confidence, with experience in job costing, budget control, margin management, and operational decision-making.
Demonstrated ability to manage and develop remote, field-based teams, maintaining high standards despite geographic dispersion is necessary. A clear, confident communicator, able to manage customer relationships, resolve escalations, and align internal stakeholders is important. Strong digital capability, including CRM/ERP systems, service planning tools, and performance reporting dashboards is also needed.
A clear focus on safety, service quality, and operational excellence is crucial. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical service function within a growing technical organisation, with real scope to shape processes, improve performance, and develop a high-performing service team.
If youβre a commercially minded service leader who thrives in a multi-region environment, weβd love to hear from you.
