Quantity Surveyor – Hastings
Pertemps are pleased to be working with a top Fire and security company. They are currently expanding and are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Hastings. They offer competitive packages + benefits.
Looking to recruit an experienced QS to be based within their busy, vibrant Fire Systems office in Hastings. Working alongside the operations staff and with the guidance of the Senior QS and Director, you will be the connection between the clients, finance teams, site teams and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Agreement of interim payment amounts with clients, monitoring when payment notices are due/received/outstanding.
- Preparing project budgets in conjunction with the Contracts Managers and Operations Director
- Monitoring budgets against costs and projections on a monthly basis.
- Sending subcontractor enquiries, analysing quotations, placement of orders, interim payments & agreement of subcontractor final accounts
- Ensuring that we fulfil all our contractual obligations
- Advising contracts managers regarding all commercial matters (variations, delays etc.) and ensuring that they are identified and recorded.
- Assist contracts managers in the preparation of contractual notices
- Site visits are essential to monitor for possible variations and similar matters and ensure that site records are produced.
- Maintain good relationships with clients, consultants and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Tendering, contract review, change control, valuations and final account settlement experience
- Understanding of the JCT Standard Forms of Contract and similar
- Quantity surveying degree or professional qualifications
- Excellent IT skills (particularly Microsoft Excel)
- Experience of producing and monitoring project budgets;
- Experience of monitoring when payments are due/received/outstanding
- CSCS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
