As the Head of Procurement, you will lead and develop a small purchasing team, each with expertise in their respective product areas. This is a role where you will be responsible for consolidating procurement processes, driving efficiencies, and ensuring that our global sourcing strategy aligns with the group’s growth and operational objectives. You will report directly to the Group MD and play a key role in leveraging the synergies created through recent acquisitions.
The successful candidate will need to balance strategic oversight with being hands on, ensuring that procurement activities across all divisions are aligned, cost effective, and maximise quality while minimising risk., Develop and implement a group wide procurement strategy that leverages efficiencies, reduces costs, and ensures quality across all divisions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers, ensuring the best value, quality, and service. Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, especially in the context of fluctuating global markets and material availability.
Lead a small but experienced procurement team, providing guidance and strategic direction. Foster a collaborative culture that aligns with the Company values of One Team and Building Relationships.
Drive cost savings through supplier negotiations, bulk purchasing, and standardisation across divisions, ensuring procurement strategies align with business objectives.
Spot opportunities for improving processes across the procurement function, implementing systems and practices that drive efficiency, improve lead times, and reduce waste.
Maximise the value from recent acquisitions by standardising procurement processes and consolidating suppliers where appropriate, driving economies of scale across the group.
Ensure compliance with UK and global procurement regulations, including sustainability initiatives and ethical sourcing. Implement robust risk management strategies to safeguard the supply chain.
Work closely with engineering, production, logistics, finance, and other divisions to ensure alignment and smooth execution of procurement strategies. Proven experience in a Head of Procurement or senior procurement role, ideally in a packaging environment.
Strong global sourcing experience with a track record of negotiating with international suppliers and managing cross border supply chains and managing contracts.
Demonstrable experience in team leadership and building cross functional relationships.A strategic thinker with the ability to spot opportunities for efficiency and continuous improvement.
Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, cost management, and risk mitigation.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to work within a dynamic, fast-growing organisation, with experience managing procurement through periods of growth and change.
Familiarity with UK and global compliance regulations, particularly around sustainability and ethical sourcing.
