A “Good” Ofsted-rated Independent Training Provider is expanding to become an End-Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) and Awarding Body. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team, taking a leading role in managing compliance, regulatory approvals, and quality assurance frameworks for Apprenticeships and Higher Education qualifications, including HNDs and degree-level programmes. With a team of 50 staff supporting over 1,000 learners, the organisation is committed to maintaining its reputation for excellence, as recognised by its Ofsted “Good” rating in March 2022. Working Arrangements and Benefits Salary: Competitive, up to £60,000 (negotiable based on experience). Working Environment: Hybrid role, with office-based work required during the first 3–6 months of onboarding. Flexibility: Open to part-time candidates (2–3 days per week). Professional Growth: Autonomy to shape and develop the Quality Assurance and Compliance function, supported by a dedicated team. The Role As the Quality and Compliance Manager, you will lead efforts to ensure the organisation’s qualifications meet and exceed regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing robust Quality Assurance frameworks to maintain compliance with Ofqual, IFATE, ESFA, and other regulatory bodies. Overseeing internal and external quality assurance processes to deliver consistent, high-quality learner outcomes. Managing compliance activities to secure and maintain recognition as an Awarding Body and EPAO. Supporting the design, development, and approval of qualifications, with a focus on Construction Apprenticeships and Higher Education programmes at Levels 4–6. Collaborating with universities, training providers, and colleges to launch new qualifications aligned with regulatory requirements. Leading audits, reviews, and inspections, preparing comprehensive reports to demonstrate compliance. Representing the organisation with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders. Managing and mentoring a small team, with opportunities to progress into a broader leadership role. Candidate Specification We are seeking an experienced and proactive professional with the following qualifications, skills, and attributes: Key Experience Proven expertise in managing Quality Assurance and Compliance processes within Apprenticeships, Awarding Bodies, and EPAOs. Experience working in Higher Education institutions, particularly on degree programmes (essential). Comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks, including Ofqual, IFATE, ESFA, and Ofsted. Practical experience in developing and implementing IQA systems, with a minimum Level 4 IQA qualification. Familiarity with Apprenticeship Standards, End-Point Assessments, and Higher Education qualifications up to degree level. Experience in preparing for audits, inspections, and maintaining regulatory approvals. Skills and Attributes Strong organisational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple complex initiatives. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Strategic thinker with a practical, problem-solving mindset. Leadership experience, with a collaborative and supportive approach to mentoring.
