About the Opportunity
We’re proud to be supporting a market leader in precision engineering in their search for an experienced CNC Mill Turn Setter/Operator to join their night shift team in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled aerospace machinist who takes pride in producing complex, high-integrity components to the highest standards.
The Role
As a key member of the machining team, you’ll be setting and operating 3–5 axis CNC Mill Turn machines to manufacture precision-engineered aerospace components. Working from structured manufacturing plans, you’ll ensure every part meets tight tolerances and strict quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate multi‑axis CNC Mill Turn machines to produce precision aerospace components.
- Read and understand CNC programs, making adjustments as required for tool offsets and datums.
- Conduct thorough in‑process inspection using precision measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, CMM, shadow graphs, etc.).
- Work collaboratively to maintain machine efficiency and workflow.
- Carry out Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) and daily checks to ensure consistent machine performance.
- Adhere to all company and industry quality procedures and documentation standards.
About You
- Time‑served or apprentice‑trained CNC machinist with strong aerospace background.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in precision manufacturing for aerospace or similar regulated sectors.
- Confident in CNC code comprehension and machine setup.
- Strong focus on quality, accuracy, and right‑first‑time results.
- Team‑oriented, proactive, and able to meet production deadlines.
