HGV Class 1 Drivers (Temp to Perm) – Night Shifts

Shifts: 3 x Night Shifts per Week (18-hour structured shifts)
Contract: Temp to Perm
Salary: Approx. £50,000 per annum once permanent (exact figure TBC)
We are recruiting 8 professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join a well-established national logistics operator specialising in time-critical, secure, hub-to-hub trunking. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering long-term stability, consistent shift patterns and excellent earning potential.
The Role
- Night shifts starting 18:00, finishing approx. 12:00 next day
- 3 shifts per week on fixed shift patterns: Team 1 & 2: Sun, Tue, Thu; Team 3 & 4: Mon, Wed, Fri
- Purely traction work: Collect trailer set from Northampton hub
- 1 x double decker + 1 x single deck trailer
- Single deck includes a short drop in Cumbria (3–4 cages, forklifted off)
- Continue to Bellshill hub for drop & swap with preloaded trailer
- Double-manned operation, so drivers must be comfortable managing hours and workload within a team
- No nights out – all runs return to depot
Requirements
- Minimum 25 years old (insurance requirement)
- No more than 6 points on licence
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- At least 1 year Class 1 experience
- Essential: previous experience with double-decker trailers
- Experience of trunking and long-distance hub-to-hub operations
- Strong understanding of driver hours, WTD and double-manned operations
- Professional, reliable and able to work within a time-critical environment
