About the Role: We are seeking dedicated and professional Accuracy Checking Technicians (ACTs) to join our team in the West Midlands. This role offers a structured shift pattern and is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.
Shift Pattern:
- Hours: 09:00 – 21:00 (12-hour shifts)
- Schedule: 4 days on / 4 days off rotation
- Includes: Weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately check and verify dispensed prescriptions in line with SOPs and legal standards
- Ensure safe, timely preparation and dispatch of medications
- Maintain accurate patient records (PMR) and uphold data protection standards
- Identify and escalate medication-related issues to the Responsible Pharmacist
- Support stock management, including ordering, receiving, and regular checks
- Ensure proper storage of medicines and maintain a clean, safe work environment
- Handle returns and maintain logs
- Coordinate timely communication with GPs and patients
- Organise batch sheets, monitoring expiry dates of treatments
Requirements:
- GPhC registration as an Accuracy Checking Technician
- Previous experience in a community pharmacy or similar setting preferred
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to patient safety
- Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays as part of the shift rota
