Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Band 8a Pharmacist to support an Acute Hospital. This is a ward-based position for 11 weeks, offering the opportunity to contribute to patient care across multiple specialities including the following:
- General Medicine
- Surgery
- Orthopaedics
This is a hands-on clinical role requiring confident decision-making and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Medicines reconciliation
- Clinical review of patients
- Making appropriate clinical interventions
- Processing discharge prescriptions
- Working with electronic prescribing systems
- Collaborating closely with ward staff and the wider MDT
Essential Requirements
- GPhC-registered Pharmacist
- Previous acute hospital experience (essential)
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to work independently
- Proficient in electronic prescribing and discharge processes
