Overview
Band 7 Pharmacist – Oncology (NHS Experience Required). Location: Southend-On-Sea, Essex. Contract: Locum. Rate: £312 per day. Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:30. Duration: Three months initially, with view to extend. Starts ASAP.
About the Role
As a key member of our oncology pharmacy team, you will:
- Provide expert clinical pharmacy input to oncology and haematology services.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.
- Support the safe prescribing, preparation, and administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT).
- Lead on clinical governance, audits, and service improvement initiatives within oncology.
- Act as a mentor for junior pharmacists and contribute to staff development.
About You
We are seeking a pharmacist who can hit the ground running in a busy oncology setting. You must have:
- NHS oncology pharmacy experience
- Proven experience with ChemoCare prescribing system
- Completed SACT Passport (mandatory)
- Strong clinical knowledge of systemic anti-cancer therapies
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
- GPHC Registration
