GIS Technician Remote – Until 31st March 2025 – £18.83 p/hr – 37 hours a week About the Role As a GIS Technician, you will provide essential support to our client’s Geospatial Team, helping to deliver an integrated spatial data service. You’ll work on managing corporate spatial data, designing map products, and supporting our teams with GIS expertise. Your work will directly contribute to a wide range of projects, such as legal mapping for protected sites, urban green spaces, and woodland grant schemes. Key Responsibilities Provide specialist digitising services to create core spatial reference data. Produce high-quality digital maps and ensure compliance with corporate styles. Manage and maintain a collection of spatial data, including third-party datasets. Oversee the quality assurance process, metadata creation, and adherence to UK/EU standards (e.g., INSPIRE). Manage an archive of aerial imagery, maps, and spatial data in both digital and paper formats. We are looking for someone with the following: Proven experience in editing and digitising within ArcMap , creating high-quality digital maps, and managing spatial data. Strong spatial data management skills, including data transformation, manipulation, and statistical analysis. Familiarity with managing sensitive or confidential data and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Experience in setting map styling standards and creating user-friendly online spatial data views. Knowledge of managing map and aerial photo archives. A degree in a relevant field or significant experience in GIS, data management, or related disciplines.
