The Role
The Finance Manager will oversee financial accounting, reporting, planning, and compliance—ensuring robust financial controls, accuracy, and efficiency across all operations.
Working closely with the Head of Finance, you’ll play a key role in strengthening internal processes, improving reporting systems, and supporting strategic decision-making. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that will suit someone with strong technical skills and a commercial mindset, who is ready to take the next step toward Financial Controller level.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports
Manage all aspects of day-to-day finance operations including AP/AR, payroll, and expenses
Maintain and improve internal financial controls
Support the preparation and audit of annual statutory accounts in line with FRS102
Manage cash flow forecasting and oversee group cash reporting
Provide financial analysis and insights to senior leadership
Partner with departmental heads to support budgeting and forecasting
Ensure compliance with VAT, corporation tax, and payroll tax requirements
Identify opportunities to automate and streamline financial processes
About You
Qualified accountant ACCA or equivalent) with at least 2–3 years’ PQE
Experience in a Finance Manager or similar role within a fast-paced SME or scale-up
Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and compliance standards
Skilled in balance sheet accounting, cash flow forecasting, and revenue recognition
Experience supporting audits and statutory filings
Proficiency in Xero and Excel, with a good grasp of financial software systems
Excellent communication and analytical skills
A self-starter with strong attention to detail and the confidence to challenge and improve processes
