Private Sector Rental Policy Officer \\n\\nLocation: West London\\n Contract Type: Temporary / Interim\\n Department: Private Sector Rental, Corporate Finance & Housing Services\\n Reports to: Head of Private Sector Rental Services\\n\\nRole Overview\\n\\nPertemps Network Group are seeking a detail-driven Private Sector Rental Policy Officer to lead the review, development and delivery of policies that support high-quality private sector rental services across the borough. This role plays a key part in ensuring that policies remain compliant, effective and aligned with best practice, legislation and local strategic priorities.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\nLead and manage the policy review programme, ensuring all Private Sector Rental policies and procedures remain compliant, current and fit for purpose.\\nWork directly with residents, internal teams and external partners to ensure policy frameworks are clear, effective and aligned with statutory requirements.\\nMonitor national policy, legislative developments, consultations, guidance and best practice relating to Private Sector Rental services.\\nBuild strong working relationships with stakeholders including Adult Social Care, Children’s Services, Resident Involvement teams, landlords, developers, community groups and voluntary sector partners.\\nIdentify, monitor and analyse policy issues, producing evidence-based recommendations and policy responses.\\nSupport the development of a detailed evidence base, including data and insight relating to stock condition, private rented sector needs, market trends and wider socio-economic indicators (e.g., IMD at borough and ward level).\\nMaintain the policy and procedure library on SharePoint, ensuring documents are accessible, updated and properly version-controlled.\\nWork collaboratively with service managers across Private Sector Rental services to ensure consistent policy implementation.\\nManage approval and publication processes for policy documents, including preparing Cabinet reports where required.\\nProduce clear, concise briefings on national policy changes, undertake research and recommend best practice approaches aligned to the Council’s strategic objectives.\\n\\nKey Deliverables\\n\\nUp-to-date, compliant policies and procedures that support high-quality Private Sector Rental services.\\nA well-managed and timely policy review programme.\\nA comprehensive evidence base providing insight on stock, market conditions and local socio-economic data.\\nCurrent and accurate understanding of private sector rental legislation, national policy updates, regulatory guidance and Ombudsman standards.\\nStrong and effective working relationships with internal and external strategic stakeholders.\\n\\nPertemps is one of the UK’s leading recruitment partners to local authorities, housing providers and public sector organisations.
