The organisation is expanding their Family Help Adolescent Service and are looking for a committed and creative Practitioner to join them. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, forward-thinking service that places contextual safeguarding and adolescent-centred practice at its core.

About the Role

As a Family Support Practitioner, you will work directly with adolescents and their families to reduce risk, strengthen relationships, and improve outcomes. You’ll support young people who may be experiencing harm outside the home, including exploitation, peer influence, and community-based risks.

You will work flexibly and creatively, using approaches that resonate with young people and reflect their lived experiences. You will work closely with schools, community partners, and multi-agency networks to create safer environments for young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with adolescents and their families.
  • Complete holistic assessments that reflect the realities of adolescent life.
  • Provide proactive, integrated, and innovative support to families with the greatest need.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, creative interventions tailored to young people’s identities, cultures, and experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to address risks in peer groups, schools, and communities.
  • Lead Team Around the Family meetings and coordinate support plans.
  • Advocate for young people, ensuring their voices shape decisions and interventions.
  • Understand and respond to the impact of mental health, substance use, domestic abuse, extra-familial harm, and harmful practices on young people and their families.

About You

I am looking for someone who brings energy, empathy, and a genuine commitment to working with adolescents. You will have:

  • A clear passion for working with young people aged 11+.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development, identity, and behaviour.
  • Knowledge of contextual safeguarding and risks outside the home.
  • The ability to think creatively and adapt your practice to engage young people effectively.
  • Insight into the adolescent world - what matters to them, how they communicate, and how they see their environment.
