Housing & Litigation Advocate In partnership with Hammersmith & Fulham Council £500 -£530 per day (Umbrella) Hybrid working – minimum 2 days per week in office Are you an experienced advocate with a passion for securing justice through expert litigation? Pertemps, in partnership with Hammersmith & Fulham Council, is seeking a skilled Advocate to deliver high-quality representation in courts and tribunals, focusing on housing and regulatory litigation. Why This Role Appeals to Litigation Specialists Own a broad and challenging housing litigation caseload: homelessness, allocations, anti-social behaviour injunctions, closure orders, disrepair, and leasehold issues. Represent the Council in diverse courts including County Court, Magistrates Court, First-Tier and Upper Tribunals, providing authoritative advocacy and legal advice. Conduct prosecutions in Magistrates Court on regulatory matters and provide expert negotiation on litigation risk and tactics. Play a vital role in reducing reliance on external counsel, delivering cost-efficient, high-quality legal services. Mentor junior lawyers, setting performance standards and embedding the Council’s values through collaborative leadership. Contribute to complex policy development by advising at cabinet and scrutiny meetings, enhancing the Council’s reputation. About You Qualified barrister, solicitor, or CILEX Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience preferred. Extensive advocacy experience, particularly in county and magistrates courts. Strong knowledge of housing law and regulatory frameworks, with flexibility to expand expertise as needed. Excellent oral and written communication, with proven ability to influence outcomes in high-pressure settings. Committed to public service values, innovation, and continuous improvement.
