A large and well-established manufacturing and automation business in Wrexham is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join their on-site engineering team. This role offers excellent work-life balance, including around 20 Fridays off each year, a colleague discount scheme, and a strong pension and benefits package.
You will play a key part in keeping the factory running smoothly, supporting production, moulding and automation departments while working on electrical, mechanical and building services maintenance across a modern manufacturing facility.
What you'll be doing:
- Electrical installation, testing and fault finding
- Mechanical maintenance and installation following safe systems of work and isolation procedures
- Managing and coordinating external contractors for facilities and building projects
- Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance
- Supporting production and moulding operations with breakdowns and day-to-day engineering support
- Making minor changes to PLC programs
- Maintaining and improving automation and production equipment
- Supporting TPM schedules and continuous improvement activities
- Driving energy-saving initiatives across the site
What we're looking for:
- A motivated and proactive maintenance engineer
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Well organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident managing maintenance and improvement projects
- Able to work safely and follow H&S and isolation procedures
- A team player with strong communication skills
Skills & Experience:
- HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 18th Edition qualification (preferred)
- Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Knowledge of building services such as plumbing, boilers or heating
- Basic understanding of PLC programming
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production or industrial environment
