Main Details
- Hourly Rate: £14.41 per hour (Monday to Friday)
- Enhanced Rate: £19.48 per hour (Friday after 10pm until Sunday 10pm)
- Working Pattern: 35 days or nights per week (rota issued weekly in advance on Thursdays)
- Shift Pattern: 12-hour Shifts
- 06:00am - 18:00pm
- 18:00pm - 06:00am
- Flexibility with days and nights is essential
The Role
This role is ideal for candidates with previous FLT experience, including those with expired or in-house licences, looking to return to active forklift operations. You will be operating a counterbalance forklift in a fast-paced manufacturing and logistics environment, maintaining the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and efficiency. The role involves the use of counterbalance trucks fitted with clamp attachments to handle goods safely and securely. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the movement of materials using counterbalance equipment between production areas, storage locations, and loading docks, ensuring smooth operational flow at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading goods and deliveries
- Operating counterbalance FLT trucks with clamp attachments
- Transporting raw materials to production workstations
- Identifying and reporting damages, shortages, and quality issues
- Conducting routine vehicle and equipment checks
- Recording inventory movements and producing activity logs
- Ensuring compliance with site health & safety policies
- Supporting a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Requirements & Skills:
- Previous experience as an FLT / Forklift Operator
- Experience operating counterbalance forklifts preferred
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Good understanding of industrial equipment
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Valid or expired FLT licence considered
- Strong time-management and communication skills
- Reliable, team-focused, and safety-driven approach
