We are recruiting for a Claims Handler to join a well-known energy company that manages a large power network across the region. You’ll support the recovery of costs linked to damage to their assets. This is a temporary role with a strong chance of becoming permanent for the right person.

The Role
As a Claims Handler, you’ll manage a caseload of claims linked to damage to the network and oversee incoming claims from other utility companies. You’ll work to resolve cases efficiently, handle disputes, and keep things moving. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with good time management, will be key to your success in this Claims Handler position.
Pay: £12.61ph
Hours: 09.00am - 5:00pm
Working Week: Mon-Thurs | 4.30pm finish Fridays
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of damage claims ranging from £100 to £1m+
- Making sure claims are resolved on time and within agreed authority levels
- Building and maintaining customer relationships and managing outstanding costs
- Using IT systems such as Solcase, GIS, EAM, Spatial, OMS, Oracle, and Microsoft Office
- Applying relevant legislation and guidance when handling claims
- Handling technical queries and disputes in a professional way
- Identifying problem claims and deciding the best next steps
- Understanding repair costs and associated overheads
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times
- Supporting the wider claims and admin team
- Attending meetings with third parties to resolve liability and cost issues

Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 A Levels (Grade C or above), NVQ Level 3, or ONC in Business Management
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience working as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Proven customer service experience
Desirable:
- Previous experience in claims, insurance, or legal-related roles
