Production & Installation Operative (Full Training Provided)
Location: Northampton (office-based) + travel across Northants, Beds, Leics, Warks, Oxon, Herts, Bucks, Cambs, and occasionally across the UK
Salary:
Year 1: £12.98 per hour (£27,000 per annum)
Year 2: £13.46 per hour (£28,000 per annum)
Salary review after Year 2 based on training progression
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Overtime: Paid at time and a half (1.5x hourly rate)
Holiday: 31 days (including bank holidays and paid Christmas closure)
Requirement: Full UK driving licence

The Role
- We are looking for a Production & Installation Operative to join our team in Northampton. This is a hands-on, full-time, permanent role with full training provided perfect for someone practical, reliable, and eager to learn new skills.
- Youll start in the production workshop, learning how to manufacture the product. As your training progresses, youll move into the installation side, fitting our products on-site at client locations across the region (and sometimes nationwide).
- This role offers long-term stability, structured training, and the opportunity to develop valuable trade skills ideal for someone seeking a practical career with progression.
Key Responsibilities
Production:
- Manufacture the product
- Operate hand tools, saws, pillar drills, and cutting machinery safely
- Maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail
Installation:
- Install the products in a variety of settings (schools, hospitals, offices, universities, etc.)
- Work with different building materials
- Ensure each job is completed to a high standard and within deadlines
- Travel to customer sites (some overnight stays required allowance provided)
Training & Progression:
Youll receive structured training and clear progression steps:
- 06 months: Production training and probation
- 612 months: Production work + 1 day/week installation
- 1218 months: Increasing installation work
- 1824 months: Approx. 2 days/week installation
- 1-year review: Salary and performance review
All training, tools, uniform, company van, and insurance are provided.
External certifications include:
- CSCS Card
- PASMA Certification
- Ladder & Steps Safety Training
- Product-specific installation training
Working Hours:
- Production: 8:00am 4:30pm
- Installation: Varies (early starts and flexible finish times depending on job completion)
- Occasional Saturdays paid at overtime rate

- Comfortable travelling across the UK when required
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
