Hours of Work: Monday to Friday; 09:00 - 17:00

Working arrangements: Hybrid working, at least 2-3 days working from the office

Overview of the Role:

Pertemps is looking for a motivated and self-driven individual to join the expanding team at the London Borough of Harrow as a Property Leasehold Officer. This temporary position offers a competitive pay rate of up to 27.41 per hour Umbrella PAYE, excellent training, career development support.

Main Responsibilities of a Property Leasehold Officer:

  • Manage service charge income, including personal contact, report production, and liaising with mortgage lenders, court services, and legal teams.
  • Proactively contact leaseholders to address non-payment issues.
  • Assess income and expenditure, establish repayment agreements, and monitor repayments.
  • Identify and refer leaseholders with serious debts to advice services.
  • Create and manage payment plans, promoting Direct Debits and Standing Orders.
  • Set up and monitor Direct Debits, and process cheques.
  • Investigate and process payment transfers, refunds, and misallocated payments.
  • Handle service charge enquiries, resolving issues or referring them as needed.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Knowledge of relevant property and housing acts.
  • Ability to interpret leases and transfer agreements.
  • Experience in service charge collection and arrears recovery.
  • Understanding of service charge and major works billing processes.
  • Familiarity with leases, covenants, and the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal.
