The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Network Planning Officer to join their Highways & Transport team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in network management, traffic orders, or highways planning who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and forward-thinking local authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and planning of roadworks, street works, and network activities across the borough.
  • Assist in assessing permit applications and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Monitor network performance and help identify opportunities to improve traffic flow and minimise disruption.
  • Liaise with contractors, utility companies, internal teams, and members of the public.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, data analysis, and project documentation.
  • Provide general administrative and technical support to the Network Management team.

About You

  • Experience working within highways, transport, network management, or a similar environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of traffic management, street works legislation, or permit schemes (desirable).
  • Proficient in IT systems and able to interpret data accurately.
