Production Team Leader
Location: Dagenham, UK
Shifts: 6 am – 2 pm / 2 pm – 10 pm
Salary: £34,361 + 15% shift premium = £39,515

Are you ready to step into a leadership role in automotive production? We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to join our dynamic team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop a team while ensuring high-quality automotive production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and support a team of Production Operators and Technical staff
  2. Ensure team compliance with Health & Safety and company policies
  3. Collaborate with Purchasing, Planning, and Quality teams
  4. Use the ERP system (Epicor) to manage production processes
  5. Drive continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives
  6. Represent your product area at production team meetings

Key Activities:

  1. Monitor team performance and address training needs
  2. Conduct regular team briefings and one-on-one meetings
  3. Manage payroll and confidential documents
  4. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  5. Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety investigations
  6. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and quality compliance
  7. Promote a culture of continuous improvement
  8. Achieve production plans and collaborate with other departments
  9. Monitor performance metrics and ensure on-time delivery
  10. Improve efficiency and manage resources effectively
  11. Address non-conformance issues to reduce costs
  12. Deputise for the Production Manager when required

Essential Skills & Experience:

  1. Organised and proactive in task allocation
  2. Strong leadership and communication skills
  3. Data-driven decision-making abilities
  4. Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  5. Background in manufacturing with a focus on quality

Qualifications:

  1. ILM Level 3 or equivalent (or willing to work towards)
  2. Appropriate HSE certification (COSHH/Risk Assessor)

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  1. Continuous Improvement qualifications (Green/Yellow Belt)
  2. Experience with Epicor ERP and PeopleHR
  3. Automotive manufacturing background
