The Education Network are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work within one of our partnership schools based in the South Shields area. We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is committed to enhancing the education of children within a classroom. The role will be based in KS1 and you will be responsible for working with small groups of children to deliver intervention sessions. The successful applicant will have prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant and will need to understand the national curriculum and be able to deliver this to the highest level possible. Candidates must hold a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) and have recent school experience.
Responsibilities
- Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification with recent experience of working within a school (within the last 2 years)
- Caring and nurturing attitude towards children
- Full understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection methods and responsibilities
- A passion and desire to work with students with additional needs
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to new learning environments
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and students
- A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate or a willingness to apply for one
- Available 5 days a week and able to commit up to the end of the summer term
