Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4pm

About the School

We are a friendly, inclusive school in Maidenhead, committed to providing high-quality education for children with special educational needs (SEN). Our pupils have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and learning disabilities. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you’ll join a dedicated team of teachers and support staff to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Your Role

  • Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups to access the curriculum.
  • Assist with speech, language, communication, and social skills development.
  • Help children build confidence, independence, and resilience.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to adapt learning materials and lessons.
  • Promote wellbeing, inclusion, and safeguarding at all times.
  • Support classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.

Person Specification

  • Empathetic, patient, and passionate about working with children with SEN.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to remain calm, consistent, and professional in challenging situations.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting children’s learning.
  • No previous experience required, full training and support provided.
