A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a Year 2 classroom. This is a long-term role via the agency, ideal for someone passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive academically and socially.

This vibrant school has a strong focus on nurturing the whole child and provides excellent support for staff, with a collaborative leadership team and experienced SENCO.

The Role

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support pupils with additional learning needs within a Year 2 setting.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
Supporting children with communication, learning, or social/emotional needs
Adapting classroom activities to ensure pupils can access learning
Delivering targeted interventions in literacy and numeracy
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with primary-aged children, ideally KS1
Has supported pupils with SEND (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, SEMH)
Is patient, nurturing, and confident managing behaviour positively
Can build strong, trusting relationships with children
Works well as part of a team and takes initiative
Holds a relevant qualification (Level 2/3 TA, childcare, or similar – desirable but not essential) What the School Offers
