High Needs SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Base)\\nLocation:ย Watford\\n Contract: Long term, full time. \\n Start Date: January or February 2026\\nRate: ยฃ85 โ ยฃ110 โ Depending on experience\\n\\nAbout the Role:\\nWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and high needs in a Secondary school in Watford. Working alongside the class teacher, SENCO, and wider multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering personalised learning, promoting communication and social skills, and supporting emotional regulation in a low-arousal, structured environment.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\nProvide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs.\\nProvide tailored 1:1 support to pupils in line with their EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) or individual support plan\\nAssist pupils in accessing the curriculum and completing learning tasks.\\nSupport communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation using personalised strategies.\\nImplement behaviour support plans and promote positive behaviour management.\\nWork collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, LSAs, and therapists to ensure consistent and high-quality support.\\nMaintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour.\\nSupport pupils during unstructured times such as play, lunch, and transitions.Candidate Requirements\\nEssential:\\n\\nExperience supporting pupils with Autism or complex SEN in a school setting.\\nExperience working with KS3 or KS4\\nUnderstanding of strategies for supporting communication and sensory needs.\\nPatient, empathetic, and resilient with excellent interpersonal skills.\\nStrong teamwork skills and ability to follow guidance from the SENCO/teachers.\\nEnhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.ย \\nDesirable:\\n\\nLevel 2 or Level 3 TA qualification.\\nExperience with PECS, Makaton, visual supports, or sensory strategies.\\nTraining in behaviour management or Team Teach.\\nFirst aid qualification.Why Work With Us\\n\\nImmediate starts and flexible contracts to suit your availability.\\nWork in a specialist autism provision with strong team support.\\nOpportunities to gain valuable SEN experience in a busy, inner-London setting.\\nCompetitive rates and professional development support.Plesae apply today with an updated CV and a consultant will be in touch with more details
