We are working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth that is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils who require additional emotional, behavioural, and social support to engage successfully in school life. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference to children's lives and supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation within a school setting.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support to pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and behavioural needs
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social skills
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff, and external professionals
  • Implement behaviour support plans and contribute to positive behaviour strategies
  • Act as a consistent, trusted adult for pupils who may struggle with engagement or transitions
  • Support pupils both in and out of the classroom, including during unstructured times

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs (school, care, youth work, or similar settings)
  • Calm, resilient, and patient approach to behaviour support
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to follow behaviour plans and maintain clear boundaries
  • Passion for inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
  • Team player who can also work independently

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience in a primary school setting
  • Knowledge of behaviour strategies, trauma-informed practice, or restorative approaches
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Youth Work, Psychology, Education, SEN)
