Lead Maintenance Engineer – WednesburyAnnual Salary: up to £55,000 DOEAlternating shifts: 5am–1pm (odd weeks) / 11am–7pm (even weeks)Join a high-volume, dual-role laundry site serving the Healthcare and Hospitality sectors, processing up to 1.5 million linen items weekly. The site operates 24/5 with additional weekend shifts during peak periods. As a Lead Engineer, you’ll play a key role in managing a 24/7 engineering team, ensuring smooth operations through proactive and reactive maintenance.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a team of engineers across shifts
• Oversee PPM schedules, small project planning, and compliance (LOLER, PUWER, PAT, etc.)
• Conduct root cause analysis and ensure quality of maintenance work
• Manage parts sourcing and stock control
• Support team development, conduct return-to-works, and low-level disciplinary actions
• Work to departmental targets and budgets

Team Structure:

• 1 x Engineering Manager
• 3 x Lead Engineers
• 4 shifts of 3 engineers (12hr, 4 on/4 off), plus 1 Apprentice & 1 Junior Engineer
• 2 Handymen

Requirements:

• 2+ years in a team leadership role within engineering
• Level 3 Engineering qualification (Management qualification desirable)
• Experience with CMMS, compliance, and maintenance planning
• Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
